The World Cup Selections Ranking in Social Media

This article shows the digital ranking of the soccer selections qualified to the world cup 2018.
The Science House MrPredictions announces the ranking in social media of the 32 selections qualified to the world cup that is just to happen in Russia.
This is another activity of the laboratory for predictive studies called P2eLab performed by experts from University of New Mexico (Albuquerque, USA).
The survey presents the digital engagement map of the soccer selections in the main social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
Besides, the map also shows the current Fifa world ranking. So, it is possible to verify the status of each selection in the digital world versus the status established by Fifa.
It is possible to note that Germany occupies the first position in Fifa ranking, but appears only in fifth place by digital ranking. Brazil is the number one in digital ranking and it is the number two for Fifa, so there is no much difference.
However, Mexico and England occupy the 16th and 12nd at Fifa´s and appear in the second and third in digital ranking, respectively. The hostess is on the 65th position, but in the digital world Russia occupies the 16th place.
Fifa has about 56 millions of followers in social media. The 32 selections together reach nearly 127 million.
